First of all let me introduce myself.
I go by the nickname of MATEL, name that appeared one day and stayed…
Born and raised in Quebec city, Canada.
I get my inspiration from the banality of the everyday life, people, nature, etc… The result made from mixed mediums flirts with caricature. Evolving in a goofy universe, my characters take all kind of shapes and expressions while having their own specific meaning. Snowboarding and skateboarding have had a major influence on my awakening to art and design. I spend most of my time painting, drawing and working on illustrations for all kind of clients, from swag to murals.
